The machinery that is meant to deliver the SDGs is itself under reform. The UN80 Initiative is the Secretary-General’s effort to make the United Nations leaner and more coherent as it enters its ninth decade, against the backdrop of the deepest funding cuts the system has faced. What it decides shapes how, and how well, the development system can still deliver.
